Jodie Cady

Having worked in the meetings industry for over twenty-five years, Jodie is passionate about sharing her knowledge and growing the industry. That passion started with high school dances and parades and carried through working for a private golf club, a state association, and a corporation before the pandemic shifted her focus to freelance work. Jodie’s responsibilities include the management of all aspects of major meetings and educational events. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from Michigan State University (1995), a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation (2005), a Certified Meeting Professional Fellow (2022), a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) designation (2012), and a Certificate in Meeting Management (CMM) program (2013). As an active member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), she has served as the MPI Michigan (MMPI) Chapter President (2007-2008), and as a volunteer since joining the chapter in 2002. Jodie taught the CMP study course for MPI Michigan Chapter. She served on the editorial advisory board for Michigan Meeting and Events magazine from 2007-2009. Jodie was a member of the faculty of Michigan State University The School of Hospitality Business as a fixed-term lecturer from 2016 - 2022, teaching Event Planning & Management and Introduction to Events for The School.
Outside of the industry, Jodie enjoys traveling with family and friends, spending time on Beaver Island in northern Michigan, walking or running with her dog, Kiko, and pushing up the output with a Peloton workout. Jodie and her husband Dean have two adult children, Declan and Maclaren, who all live in Michigan.
