Michael Chapaloney

Michael Chapaloney is Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Tourism Office where he oversees all aspects of tourism marketing including creative development, media investments, content development, media relations, international marketing, and industry partnerships. Previously, Chapaloney was Director of Marketing & Sales at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts, Harrisburg.

Michael’s past employment experience includes the state Department of Community and Economic Development where he served as a Deputy Press Secretary for Technology Investment, the state House of Representatives where he conducted media relations and speechwriting for members of the legislature, and the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association, now the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association where he served as Publications Director for the statewide industry association.

He is a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania and currently serves on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is on the board of directors of Open Stage, a professional theatre company in the capital city.
