Michelle Streeter

Michelle Streeter is the Chief Communications & Content Officer at Visit Mesa where she manages media relations, digital content strategy across all social media platforms, as well as all external and internal communications and publications. Michelle began her career as a member of the public relations team at Experience Scottsdale wrapping up her career there as Director of Public Relations (1998 -2007). Michelle executed a variety of destination marketing and PR campaigns from working alongside Iron Chef Bobby Flay to hosting exclusive events at the James Beard House, Gourmet Magazine Test Kitchen and even courting film crews from CNN, CBS Morning News, Live! With Regis & Kelly, Samantha Brown's Travel Channel series and the Today Show. She was on the development team for Travel Classics West travel writer conference, now entering its 17th year; and she helped launch the first-ever Arizona International Golf Shoot-Out with the Arizona Office of Tourism and hosted the Scottsdale Celebrity Chef Golf Invitational presented by Bon Appetit for several years.   

Just after arriving in Mesa, The Arizona Republic touted Michelle as Mesa's newest cheerleader. Her career highlights include securing full-length feature stories in Los Angeles Times,, Chicago Tribune, Cosmopolitan, USA Today, Boston Globe, American Way, Hemispheres,, New York Times, and other notable national media outlets. Michelle developed the award-winning Fresh Foodie Trail® and concepted the City Limitless® Geo Tagging Adventure marketing campaign which won the Arizona Office of Tourism Grand Pitch prize award in 2017, awarding Visit Mesa $250K in national marketing placements in National Geographic, Matador Network, Pandora Radio, Outside and others. She wrote and produced a local broadcast television, Discover Mesa, that earned a prestigious Telly Award in 2008; and earned additional Telly awards for her video production efforts in both 2015 and 2019. In 2020, she scripted and produced a five-part Instagram TV series, For the Love of Mesa, where she secured Arizona influencers to serve as local guides to all that Mesa has to offer during the pandemic. These social media videos earned Michelle and Visit Mesa a Gold Telly Award (2021).   

Add talent scout to her list, too! She is responsible for finding some of the most unique travel influencers around the globe and aligning them with the Visit Mesa brand. Michelle Streeter was on the lead team for Visit Mesa and the citywide autism certification initiative which earned a Destiny Award from U.S. Travel Association (2021) and the Arizona Governors Conference on Tourism Marketing Award-Urban (2021). She earned her Certified Autism Travel Professional certificate from IBCCES (International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards). She is a graduate of the Penn State Executive Program completing a course in Digital Marketing for Hospitality Executives (2016) and completed her Content Marketing Certification through PRSA (2018). She is currently enrolled in the American Express Leadership Academy, through Arizona State University’s Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. Her professional responsibilities flow into marketing, advertising, and paid content strategies, as well as consumer engagement and behavioral research. Michelle’s primary role is the on-going development of key messaging and brand positions for Visit Mesa and Mesa, Arizona’s destination promise in national and international news streams and outlets. She is also an active public information officer for the City of Mesa on their renowned,, digital newsroom. Baseball fans take note, Michelle served as the Editor-in-Chief and signature copy writer for the Chicago Cubs Spring Training Guide as a member of MLB Press Box which connected her with top MLB sports writers for several years (2008-2014).
