Sarah Leonard is the CEO and Destination Stewardship Officer for Visit Longmont, the community’s destination marketing and management organization. Her passion for travel began early, shaped by fond memories of family vacations that included day camping, attending performing arts events, and dining at iconic restaurants.

Sarah pursued her academic interests at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Public Relations. She later found her niche at Arizona State University, where she completed a Master’s program in Recreation and Tourism Management.

With over 25 years of experience in the tourism and natural resource industries, Sarah now leads Visit Longmont. Previously, she served as the CEO of the Alaska Travel Industry Association, where she directed the statewide tourism nonprofit and managed Alaska’s destination marketing program. Additionally, she holds a sustainability certificate from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).

Sarah relocated to Colorado from Alaska with her husband Chris and their dog Kumu. Throughout her professional journey, she has been a strong advocate for inclusive travel, believing that "tourism can be the connection for education and understanding between diverse cultures and people."
