Dalaney Thomas serves as the Director of Tourism within the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, where she leads the state’s efforts to promote The Natural State as a premier travel destination. In her role, Thomas oversees Arkansas Tourism’s strategic direction, working closely with state and regional partners to drive economic growth through tourism. Her leadership spans public relations, brand strategy, creative development, paid media, event marketing, and industry engagement. She is deeply involved in shaping major campaigns, coordinating national and international trade show presence, and guiding tourism-related economic initiatives that focus on driving visitation, strengthening Arkansas’ identity as The Natural State, and supporting the growth of the state’s outdoor recreation and travel economy.

Before being named Director, Thomas spent nearly a decade supporting Arkansas Tourism through her work as a Senior Account Manager and Board Member at the Little Rock-based advertising agency CJRW. There, she led the development and execution of high-impact campaigns, national media strategies, and public relations programs. She played a central role in managing the state’s COVID business recovery marketing efforts in coordination with the Governor’s Office and state agencies, navigating a critical moment for Arkansas businesses and the tourism industry.

A proud alumna of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in business administration. She was recognized as one of Arkansas Business’s “20 in Their Twenties” in 2019 and named among Arkansas Money and Politics’ “Top 100 Professionals” in 2022. Her leadership is rooted in creativity, collaboration, and a deep passion for telling Arkansas’s story.
