Meg Stevens joined Arizona Athletic Grounds (AAG) in July 2024, bringing an extensive coaching and leadership background to one of the nation’s largest sports and entertainment complexes. Hitting the Grounds running, Stevens built the staff of more than 200 into a cohesive team to comprehensively achieve more than 300 milestones in less than a year, ranging from behind the scenes shifts to improve day-to-day operations to customer-facing changes to build a world-class experience across the 280-acre facility.

The Grounds most significant achievements came from the ambitious list of priorities Stevens outlined upon arrival and serve as differentiators from similar facilities. A few of the highlights include adding a sports performance program; teaming up with Kerri Walsh Jennings’ p1440 to activate the beach volleyball courts; offering live streaming capabilities through NBC Next’s SportsEngine Play; partnering with InjureFree to run the fitness center, recovery and provide sports med placement services including athletic trainers for hosted events; the opening of Bristol’s Burgers Beef and BBQ fast casual restaurant, Bristol’s Fresh Market grab ‘n go and Wetzel’s Pretzels, as well as adding water stations to outdoor facilities and an upcoming project to add much-needed shade to the fields complex. Since her arrival, AAG has contracted and hosted several significant events including USA Basketball 3X Nationals, American Cornhole League, Carvana PPA Mesa Cup, Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball, been added to the FIFA World Cup 26TM team base camp brochure, and in June 2025, will welcome Section 7, one of the most prestigious boys and girls high school basketball recruiting events in the country. Additionally, Stevens has helped grow sponsorships at the Grounds, bringing in several significant new partners.

Prior to AAG, Stevens spent eleven-years at Averett University (AU) where she served as Vice President and Director of Athletics and Campus Operations, leading the institution to remarkable athletic and academic achievements. During her time at Averett, Stevens introduced the “3-2-1” philosophy, which aimed for all teams to achieve a 3.0 GPA, finish in the top two in their conference, and work together as "one team." This philosophy fostered a culture change that spread across the entire university.
