Candy Rodriguez

Candy leads Visit Lake Charles’ (VLC) communications efforts with a focus on storytelling, media relations, partner engagement and community-driven messaging that elevates Southwest Louisiana’s visibility. As Director of Communications, she helps shape the organization’s voice across print and digital platforms, media channels and strategic initiatives.

Since joining Visit Lake Charles in 2023, Candy has played a key role in showcasing the region’s culture, culinary scene, festivals and outdoor experiences, positioning Southwest Louisiana as a destination worth discovering. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she hosts VLC’s Spanish-language podcast, Visita Lake Charles: Las Voces de Luisiana, connecting Spanish-speaking audiences to the people and experiences that define the destination.

Her work also includes supporting communications for Just Imagine SWLA in partnership with the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana, coordinating efforts for Chuck Eats Restaurant Week and amplifying partner stories across VLC platforms. With a background in broadcast journalism, Candy brings a reporter’s curiosity, a storyteller’s perspective, a collaborative spirit and a deep love for community to her work.
