Gregg Caren
Gregg Caren is the president and CEO of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) where he oversees the organization’s efforts to promote and sell Philadelphia as a premier destination for meetings, conventions, sporting events and international travelers. Gregg joined the organization in June 2020 with more than three decades of experience in hospitality, venue and tourism management.
Previously, Gregg was responsible for a portfolio of over 100 convention and exhibition venues for Legends Global (formerly ASM Global), operator of over 350 venues worldwide, including the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Gregg began his hospitality career with Marriott and has also worked with Hilton and Sheraton properties.
Currently, Gregg serves on the board of directors for the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), U.S. Travel Association, Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation and represents the PHLCVB on the Meetings Means Business Coalition. He is also a founding partner for Tourism Diversity Matters, established as the collaborative leader of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives to address the gaps of ethnic disparities in the hospitality and tourism industries.
Gregg is a graduate of Penn State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management. Gregg and his wife Sharlene, a fellow Penn State alumna, have two adult daughters, Allie and Bryn.
