Julie Freeman

Julie is an expert in building travel and hospitality brands through media relations, consumer engagement and strategic partnerships and events at the local, national and international levels. She leads MMGY’s public relations practice and manages the agency’s New York City office. With 30 years of experience, she takes a hands-on approach, overseeing business development and guiding strategy and implementation to ensure programs deliver maximum exposure and impact. In 2023, she was named a PR News Changemaker and has earned multiple HSMAI Adrian Awards. Julie serves as Co-Chair of Destinations International’s PR & Communications Committee and on HSMAI’s Adrian Awards Steering Committee. Previously, she spent 17 years at Edelman, helping build its global tourism and hospitality offering as EVP and Deputy Global Director. She graduated cum la laude from USC with degrees in public relations and Spanish and is fluent in Spanish.
