Pete Rosenboro

In 2014, Pete Rosenboro was appointed Assistant Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. Since beginning his career in Tennessee state government in 1998, he has served in multiple leadership roles. Today, he oversees the department's 16 Welcome Centers, which welcome over 11 million visitors each year.

Under Rosenboro's leadership, Tennessee's Welcome Centers have earned national recognition for excellence in sustainability, receiving numerous awards from Keep America Beautiful for their green certifications and energy-efficient practices. He has also led efforts to reimagine the visitor experience by introducing innovative amenities and strategies that appeal to today's multi-generational travelers while strengthening partnerships across Tennessee's tourism industry.

A strong advocate for organizational culture and employee development, Rosenboro has implemented innovative leadership and engagement initiatives that have enhanced workplace morale, reduced disciplinary issues, and reinforced a culture of service excellence. His commitment to continuous improvement has helped his team consistently achieve outstanding customer satisfaction ratings while delivering memorable experiences for millions of travelers.

Rosenboro currently serves on the boards of Keep Tennessee Beautiful and the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee Sports Fund Advisory Board. He is also a two-time Chair of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute (TGEI).

A native of Bristol, Tennessee, Rosenboro is a graduate of East Tennessee State University.
