Craig Trost

Travel Wisconsin Communications Director Craig Trost is an award-winning communicator dedicated to making Wisconsin the best state in the country to play, live and work. A native of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Craig graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a degree in journalism and has spent two decades in public service. His work to secure Bravo’s Top Chef season 21 in Wisconsin led Craig to be named one of HSMAI’s 25 Extraordinary Minds in the tourism industry. A Public Relations Society of America “WisCOMsin” Communicator of the Year, Craig leads a public relations program named the best PR campaign in the nation by both the US Travel Association and HSMAI. His role as Wisconsin tourism’s hype man has expanded to overseeing teams in group travel, international sales and the state’s film office. Prior to joining Travel Wisconsin in 2019, Craig served multiple governors and led strategic communications and public policy efforts for several state lawmakers. He currently resides in Madison.
