David Holder

As a tourism professional for the past 30 years, David Holder co-founded Clarity of Place with a firsthand understanding of what destination leaders need to be successful. David and his business partner, Tina Valdecanas, started Clarity of Place in 2020 with the objective of helping destinations find better alignment with the communities they serve. The firm was acquired by Longwoods International in January of 2023, strengthening their ability to provide research-based recommendations to build destination strategies. The team has worked directly with a wide variety of destinations including Rhode Island, Colorado, Long Island, Fort Myers, Lubbock, Fresno, Tucson, and many others. Over the course of his career, he served as the President of Visit Syracuse and led tourism for both Fredericksburg and Corning and the Finger Lakes. David received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Tourism Management from North Carolina State University and is recognized by Destinations International as a CDME, Certified Destination Management Executive.
